Sift is a local-first macOS application published by NYRAI LLC. It is built so that your data never leaves your computer.
Sift reads your Claude Code session transcripts from ~/.claude on
your Mac, read-only. It never modifies those files. It builds a
local, disposable SQLite cache inside the app's own data folder to make the UI fast.
Nothing — by default. Sift has no analytics, no telemetry, no account system, and makes no network connections during normal use.
The single exception is the optional "LLM spec check" feature, which is off by default. If you explicitly enable it and provide your own Anthropic API key, Sift sends the spec file you select plus a secrets-redacted summary of the files a session changed to the Anthropic API to produce the review. Disable the feature and no data is ever transmitted.
Sift redacts common secret formats (API keys, tokens, JWTs) at the moment it parses your transcripts, before any data is stored in its cache, shown in the interface, or included in the optional spec-check request.
